Fractional CFO for Contractors
CPA-led financial leadership, on demand,
without the full-time salary
When a loan, a bond, a big hire, or a buyer is on the table, you don’t
need a full-time CFO on payroll, or even a monthly plan. Bring us the
question and we’ll run the numbers, forecast the cash, and help you
make the call, whether that’s bidding the next job or funding the next
stage of growth.
No monthly commitment required
Two ways to put a CFO in your corner
Some owners want a CFO in every monthly close. Others just need one sharp
analysis before a single big decision. Both work, and you don’t have to commit to
anything ongoing to get CFO-level help.
Bring us the question
What you can put on our desk
Every one of these is a standalone engagement, scoped, fixed-fee, and yours to use
whether or not you’re on a monthly plan. Start with one. Add more when the next decision lands.

How it works
Three steps, no monthly commitment
A standalone engagement is meant to be simple to start and easy to finish, one
question, one deliverable, one fee.
01
Tell us the decision
A short call to understand what’s at stake, what you’re deciding, and by when.
02
We scope it and build it
One engagement, one fixed fee, a clear deliverable and date. Once you approve, we pull from your books, or get them ready first, and build the model, package, or review.
03
We hand it over
You get the numbers and a working session to talk through what they mean, and what to do next.
Wherever you are, we meet you there
Tell us the decision you’re facing
Bring us the loan, the bond, the hire, or the offer. We’ll bring the analysis, and help you make the call with your eyes open. No package required.

Financial Guidance for Contractors Ready to Grow
Many contractors reach a point where they need stronger financial oversight. But the cost and commitment of hiring a full-time chief financial officer (CFO) is often out of reach.
Our Fractional CFO services for trade businesses bridge that gap.
We help contractors interpret financial data, plan for growth, and make confident decisions about hiring, pricing, and expansion—without the overhead of bringing on a full-time CFO.

CFO Services Built for Trade Businesses
Our Fractional CFO services for contractors help owners step back from the day-to-day work and see the financial patterns behind the business.
Instead of simply delivering reports, we help contractors understand margins, evaluate hiring decisions, plan equipment purchases, and prepare for the next stage of growth.
We usually integrate our CFO services within the Platinum CAAS package or structured as an enhanced advisory engagement for established contractors. You gain the strategic leadership of a CFO without the full-time cost of one.
- Right-sized.
- Embedded.
- Outcome-focused.

Are Fractional CFO Services Right for Your Business?
Many contractors begin exploring CFO services for trade businesses when their company reaches a new stage of complexity.
This often happens when:
- Multiple crews are operating at once
- Revenue is increasing but cash flow feels unpredictable
- Hiring decisions carry more financial risk
- Equipment purchases require financing
- Owners want clearer long-term financial planning
At that stage, instinct and experience are still valuable—but financial modeling becomes just as important.
Fractional CFO support helps owners move forward with clearer numbers behind major decisions.

How Our Services Work Together
At DeBlanc CPA, bookkeeping, accounting, and CFO advisory are designed to work together.
Structured bookkeeping ensures the numbers are accurate and consistent. CFO advisory focuses on using those numbers to guide decisions about hiring, pricing, expansion, and capital investment.
When these services work together:
- Job profitability becomes easier to track
- Hiring decisions rely on financial modeling
- Pricing adjustments happen earlier
- Financial planning becomes part of the growth process
Contractors can start with bookkeeping and add advisory services as their business grows, or engage CFO support when financial decisions become more complex.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be on a monthly plan to get CFO-level help?
No. Every engagement on this page is available as a standalone, fixed-fee project — no retainer, no ongoing commitment. If the work makes sense to continue after, the Platinum monthly package is an option. But that's a separate conversation, and there's no pressure to have it.
What if my books aren't in great shape?
That's a common starting point. If the books need cleanup before an analysis can run, that gets scoped and priced as part of the same engagement. Clean books aren't a requirement to start — a decision on the table is.
How is this different from working with a regular CPA?
A tax CPA looks backward — filing returns, managing compliance, and minimizing liability at year-end. A CFO looks forward — modeling cash, analyzing job margins, and helping you make calls before committing money or resources. Both matter. They're doing different jobs.
How long does an engagement take?
It depends on the scope. A lender-readiness package or cash flow model typically runs two to four weeks from the point when books are accessible and scope is agreed. Exit prep and multi-entity work take longer. Timeline is set at the start of every engagement — no surprises mid-project.
What size contractor is this built for?
Most standalone engagements fit contractors between $1M and $15M in revenue — complex enough to need the analysis, not yet at the scale that justifies a full-time CFO hire. Earlier-stage contractors with a specific decision on the table are welcome. The scope adjusts to the question, not the revenue number.
What accounting software do you work in?
All engagements run through QuickBooks Online. If books are in a different system, that gets addressed during the scoping call before any work begins.
